Atelierul este parte din programul de cercetare ON HER SIDE | DE PARTEA EI – un proiect artistic multidisciplinar cu miză socială despre și împotriva agresivității, violenței și abuzului asupra fetelor și femeilor. Lucrările care vor rezulta de pe urma atelierului, vor fi expuse în cadrul expoziției ce se va desfășura în perioada 01 octombrie – 31 octombrie 2022, la Timișoara.
„Facem clacă și spunem poveștile pe care doar noi le auzim, violența este printre noi, o vedem, o simțim, devine „normală” și acceptată de către societate. Liniile de oțel ascuțit stau aliniate și așteaptă tăcute, înfricoșătoare. Mâna apucă firul pe partea frontală a țesăturii, la o distanță egală cu lungimea anterioară – apoi acul se întoarce, trece prin țesătură, ține șirul deasupra și dedesubtul pânzei. Cusături încrucișate, de la stânga la dreapta, facem primele traversări pentru viitoarele semne, le deplasăm în direcția opusă și executăm o „cusătură de acoperire”. Prin război, suveicile aleargă în toate direcțiile, împart lumile în sus și în jos, întrețes dorințele și nevoile din amnistiile intermitente.
Ne construim șorțuri de apărare, căști solide, armuri textile, costume de luptă, kimonouri, platoșe înflorate, scuturi împotriva violenței, discriminării, abuzului împotriva drepturilor femeilor, a intoleranței vizibile și invizibile, a oricărei forme de agresiune indiferent de modul în care e numită sau justificată. Claudiu Cobilanschi activează în scena de artă contemporană situat la granița din ce în ce mai neclară dintre artă și media. Folosește, ca jurnalist, diferitele medii de expresie pe care arta i le pune la dispoziție în analizarea temelor socio-politice iar ca artist observă și fructifică rezultatul acestora. Uzează de unelte și subiecte precum stereotipurile de gândire, mass-media și ego-casting, imigrare, sărăcie și precaritate – figurându-le prin tehnici specifice artei contemporane precum video, fotografia și performance-ul, instalație si sculptură, cinematici super8, guerilla – publishing și poster bombing, etc.
